From: 'The Glass of John Walsh Walsh' by Eric Reynolds: "A flower holder in the form of an open umberella with the handle uppermost. Close to the top of the handle, attached to the main support, are a number of loops or rings formed in glass, and it was through these that the stalks passed into the water in the bowl or vase. When changing the water, the entire holder could be taken out or replacedwithout disturbing the flower arrangement."
