Lozenge mark and Sowerby peacock mark on base of small Sowerby 'vase' in blue malachite pressed glass. Registered Design lozenge mark for 20 March 1878. Lozenge mark corresponds with registered number 319589 (and the vase design is illustrated in Sowerby’s pattern book IX (1882), page 6, as pattern no. 2199). Dimensions: 55mm high, top rim diameter (excluding handles) 63mm, foot rim diameter 44mm. Weight 102 and 110gm. Because of small size, often found described as a 'salt'.
