DAVIDSON JADE PRESSED GLASS No.1 PARFAIT VASES, 1931-4
|
A pair of Davidson Jade pressed glass pattern no. 1 vases; gloss finish; 13.5cm (5.25 inches) tall; one weighs 284g, the other 293g. Do not glow under UV light. Side panels reasonably translucent.
This small vase first appeared in their 1912 catalogue as a parfait (pattern no. 1, 6oz), but it is not known when Davidson first started selling it as a vase. Davidson jade glass was a difficult colour to mix and handle, and comparatively expensive to manufacture. It was only produced from 1931 to 1934.
