ORREFORS ART GLASS STELLA POLARIS BOWL / VASE – VICKE LINDSTRAND

A vintage 1940/50s Stella Polaris bowl / shallow vase by Orrefors, Sweden, It is in very pale ice blue crystal, has twisted ribs, and is from the Stella Polaris range designed by Vicke Lindstrand. 85mm high, 155mm maximum rim diameter; weight 1.87kg. The base is ground and polished, as is the hollowed pontil mark. Engraved ‘Orrefors’ on base (but no other letters or digits).
The Stella Polaris range came in several variants (vases, bowls, straight and twisted ribs) and was designed by Victor ‘Vicke’ Lindstrand’ for Orrefors in 1939. Often bear engraved date and designer designation marks, but sometimes only engraved Orrefors mark (as here).
