Sherdley Doric bowls with applied colour and handpainted design

Sold as part of fruit set with one large and six small bowls. Saucers also available. Serving bowl has five central dots, smaller bowls and saucers have one.
Displayed at the Britain Can Make It Exhibition, 1946 and in one of the four homes furnished by the CID at the Daily Mail Ideal Home Exhibition in 1949. Featured in the Council of Industrial Design Design Folio on Glass (c1949). Still being advertised by Sherdley in 1957.
Not clear whether the decoration was applied by Sherdley or another company.
