MOLINEAUX & WEBB PRESSED GLASS HONEY POT No. 416, 1850-60
An unregistered Molineaux & Webb (Ancoats, Manchester) design from the late 1850s. In the Molineaux Webb pattern book (see photo 3), it is described as a ‘large honey pot’ with pattern no. 416.

A clear, pressed glass honey pot (now lacking its lid), the slightly flared body of hexagonal section, each section having a large central embossed oval medallion with concave centre above five horizontal ribs or rings atop a flat-faced pediment, topped with a ruffled or scalloped rim; the hexagonal baluster stem is stepped slightly at top and bottom; the circular foot has a scalloped rim. 16.5cm high, top rim diameter 12.7cm, foot rim diameter 9cm; weight 806gm. No maker’s marks.
