Through the ether and over the Net
Never knowing how close we'd get,
Chatting each night till almost dawn,
Unheeding of sleep or the occasional yawn,
Growing much closer with each passing day,
Falling in love in a very strange way.
Words in an e-mail or a chat screen
Developing feelings where none have long been,
Waking emotions you thought were long gone -
Such an aching inside you - is this the one?
How do you cope? Where will it lead
Without all the contact that love needs to feed?
Can it survive the distance apart?
Or will it result in another broken heart?
