From the age of seven I was educated at home, and I am now 20, have finished my A levels at college and am working for the YHA for the summer. I have plans to go to the USA in November to visit friends.
Three summers ago I took a PC maintenance course at college, and another to learn how to use Microsoft Office, and the year after I did one on Desktop Publishing - skills I can put to use at home and at work. :-) I have written a couple of web sites - my first was about village architecture and can be seen at Burton-in-Kendal - Now and Then, and I am currently building a site on my own domain.
I used to go to Boys' Brigade and when I left held the rank of Corporal. We did all kinds of things - chess and table tennis championships, football, fell-walking, games, and narrow-boating. We went ski-ing and snowboarding every February in Scotland, and every two years I went to summer camp in Devon where we had night time treks across Dartmoor and went deep sea fishing for mackerel.
One year I was in the second team for the West Lowland Hike at Muirkirk, a two-day endurance walk, in which we finished 33rd out of around 50 teams. I gained my President's Badge and my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award whilst in the BB. I also like cooking - especially spicy food, and Mum says I make a mean gateau too. ;-)
I read a great deal, especially books by John Nichol and Andy McNab, and I love Tom Clancy's stuff and anything sci-fantasy. I write a bit too - fanfiction, short stories and verse mainly, asnd have created some electronic music tracks.
I love watching videos especially Star Trek stuff, and Star Wars, as well as adventure and space films. I'm really into computer gaming as well, and my current favourite is Anarchy Online. I'm also learning to play electric guitar - it's a slow job as my fingers haven't toughened up enough yet!
